1. INTRODUCTION
GarageIX ("Application") is operated by GarageIX LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"), a Florida limited liability company. This Privacy Policy governs your use of the Application and describes how we collect, process, store, and protect your personal information. By accessing or using the Application you consent to the practices described herein.
2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
We collect information you voluntarily provide including account registration data, vehicle information, service and maintenance records, photos and documents you scan, and documents you elect to store within the Application. Some features use automated processing (including third-party artificial intelligence services) to read and extract information from the photos and documents you submit; see Section 5. We also collect anonymous in-app activity — screens viewed, features used, and actions such as adding a vehicle or scanning a receipt — solely to understand how the Application is used and to improve it. This activity data is associated with your account but is not sold or used for advertising.
Feedback and support submissions. When you choose to report a problem or send a suggestion through the Application, we collect the message you write and basic technical information about your device and the app (such as device model, operating system version, and application version) to help us reproduce and resolve the issue. If — and only if — you expressly choose to attach one, we also collect a screenshot you elect to include. Screenshots are never captured automatically; attaching one is entirely optional and off by default. A screenshot you attach may contain information visible on your screen at the time, such as a vehicle identification number or document details, so you remain in control of whether to include it.
Vehicle sharing and invitations. If you choose to share a vehicle with another person, we collect the email address you provide for the invitation and retain it until the invitation is accepted, expires, or is cancelled. When a vehicle is shared, its information and records — including its service and maintenance history, fuel records, and any documents or receipt images stored for it — are visible to the people it is shared with, and records any member adds to it are visible to the others. Your display name is visible to the other members of a shared vehicle; your email address is not.
3. USE OF INFORMATION
We process your personal information exclusively to provide, maintain, and improve the Application's services, deliver notifications and alerts you have expressly opted into, facilitate account management and customer support, and comply with applicable legal obligations. We do not sell, rent, or otherwise transfer your personal information to third parties for commercial purposes.
4. DATA SECURITY
We implement industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. All data transmissions are encrypted using Transport Layer Security (TLS). Data at rest is encrypted and access is governed by strict authorization controls ensuring logical separation between user accounts, except where you have expressly shared a vehicle with another user as described in Section 2.
5. THIRD PARTY SERVICE PROVIDERS
We engage third-party service providers solely to facilitate delivery of the Application's services. Such providers are contractually bound by confidentiality obligations and data processing agreements consistent with applicable law. These providers are permitted to process your information only as directed by us and for no independent purpose. Categories of services engaged include cloud infrastructure, authentication services, artificial intelligence document processing, U.S. Government vehicle safety data, and supplemental data services. Specifically, when you use features that scan, read, or extract information from photos or documents — including vehicle registrations, insurance cards, titles, service receipts, and odometer images — the images or files you provide, together with the personal information contained within them (such as your name, license plate number, insurance policy number, and Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)), are transmitted to our artificial intelligence provider, Anthropic, for the sole purpose of reading and organizing your records and returning the results to you. This provider processes such data only to deliver that functionality on our behalf and for no independent purpose; your images and extracted text are not used to train artificial intelligence models and are not shared for advertising. In addition to that transient processing, photos and documents you choose to save to the Application — including service receipts — are stored in our cloud infrastructure as part of your account data so they remain available to you across devices and reinstalls; stored files are protected as described in Section 4 and deleted as described in Section 6. If you use vehicle sharing, the records processed when you use artificial intelligence features may include records another member added to a vehicle shared with you, and records you add to a shared vehicle may likewise be processed when another member uses those features; all such processing occurs under the same terms and limitations described in this Section. 6. DATA RETENTION AND DELETION
We retain your personal information for the duration of your account relationship with us. When you delete your account, all of your personal information — including your account, vehicles, service records, reminders, and any documents stored in the app — is permanently and irreversibly deleted from our systems immediately, with no retention period, except for the limited shared-vehicle service facts described below. You may initiate account deletion at any time through the Application's Settings, or by emailing support@garageix.com. Notwithstanding the foregoing, we reserve the right to preserve information only where strictly required by applicable law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of GarageIX LLC and its users.
Shared vehicles. If you have used vehicle sharing, the following applies to vehicles owned by another user that were shared with you. When you delete your account, any documents, receipt images, notes, and costs you contributed to such a vehicle are permanently deleted, together with the rest of your personal information. What remains are the basic service facts of entries you recorded — the date, the mileage reading, and the type of service performed (for fuel entries, the date, mileage reading, and fuel quantity) — which stay part of that vehicle's history. The link between those entries and your account is permanently removed, and your name no longer appears on them. Vehicles you own are different: they and their complete histories, including records other members contributed to them, are deleted with your account as described above. Records you contribute to another user's shared vehicle may also be deleted at any time by that vehicle's owner.
Feedback and support submissions are retained for no longer than ninety (90) days, after which the submission and any attached screenshot are automatically and permanently deleted from our systems. If you delete your account before then, your feedback submissions are deleted together with the rest of your personal information — immediately and with no retention period, as described above.
7. YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES
Subject to applicable law you have the right to access personal information we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate information, request deletion of your personal information, withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. 8. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
The Application is not directed to individuals under the age of thirteen (13). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. In compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) if we become aware that a child under 13 has provided personal information without verifiable parental consent we will take immediate steps to delete such information. If you believe a minor has submitted personal information to us please contact support@garageix.com immediately.
9. AMENDMENTS
We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. Material changes will be communicated to registered users via email or in-application notification. Your continued use of the Application following notification of changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
